Greetings,
The Nike sponsored 10//2 training for the LIVESTRONG Challenge will start next Tuesday and run for 10 weeks. The Tuesday evening rides will start at 10-15 miles and progress to 20 miles. The Saturday morning rides will start at 25 miles and progress to 40/60 miles. For those of you who start cycling after ski season, or for novice riders, this will be excellent training if you are finding that the RMCC rides are too long or intense. Just show up at the park to ride.

Occasionally, I run across cyclists on this list who have not been on the group rides. There are a variety of reasons for this. A big one is that there are a lot of youth activities on the weekend mornings. What I want to address is those who have been intimidated by a ride they have gone on or the information that I put in these newsletters. When I mention that several of us rode 128 miles with 10,000 feet of climbing or went 50 miles at 25 mph it is meant to inspire rather than intimidate. I am trying to show you what men and women, of any age, riding 2-3 times per week, with not much prior experience are capable of. The training group really exists as this newsletter and the www.midlifecycling.com website. So don't worry about not being physically at group rides. Until I can develop the multimedia training materials, please feel free to contact me about your riding. I will keep you moving in the right direction. Sincerely, ![]() Rick Russon Midlife Cycling LLC
