Most people, including professional athletes, cannot correct
themselves because they are focused on the goal or they
cannot see what their body is doing. Also, a coach works
with a lot of people in a lot of situations so they will
usually have a better selection of ideas and techniques
to help you with.
Unless you are competing on a regular basis
a good coach can help you get started and make you relatively
self-sufficient in just a couple of months. We recommend
working with a coach once or twice a week for a month or
two then tapering off to once a quarter or twice a year.
