The Midlife Cycling program has been
incorporated into the 2010 Ride Schedule of the Rocky Mountain
Cycling Club. A printed schedule may be obtained from the
leader of any club ride or most bike stores along the Front
Range.
Our coaches donate their
time to bring new members into the club. Through the Intermediate
Bike Training group, Midlife Cycling helps cyclists capable
of riding 30-40 miles at 16-18 mph improve their riding
up to a 16 mph Century (100 mile) ride. On certain designated
club rides an experienced rider called a "domestique"
will help new riders through the sign-in process, meet new
riders, and make sure they do not get dropped from the group
during the ride.
However, it is impractical
to provide specific training to a group of riders spread
all over the route. Group rides are an opportunity to enjoy
the fellowship of other riders, meet potential ride partners,
learn new cycling routes, and compare your progress with
other riders. This is an Intermediate to Advanced cycling
club so riders are expected to have experience riding in
a group, be self-sufficient on rides, and have some commitment
to cycling on a regular basis rather than being an occasional
drop-in.
